My journey for self-expression began at a very young age. I was around 7 when I was already making original drawings and paintings; that’s when my family noticed my creative streak and started encouraging it.
Coming from a family of book publishers, I was always surrounded with stories, and blessed with a grandfather who was a great storyteller. That set the foundation for me to develop my writing skills.
By the age of 16, I had also started dabbling in performing arts and graphic designing. Then there was also a few years of costume styling for films and writing non-fiction content for various brands, as well as handling social media and online marketing.
Eventually, all my interests found a meeting point in film-making, where I was able to write, tell stories, visualise and make my ideas come to life. I believe this transition was the most natural and expected one for me.
Currently, I work as an independent writer, director and artist.
Many have asked me over the years if I feel I was born to be a film-maker or even an artist. I don’t know. But while I’m here, I might as well do it all!
